IEA Annual Energy Outlook 2025

The Annual Energy Outlook 2025 (AEO2025) explores potential long-term energy trends in the United
States. AEO2025 is published in accordance with Section 205c of the Department of Energy Organization
Act of 1977 (Public Law 95-91), which requires the Administrator of the U.S. Energy Information
Administration (EIA) to prepare an annual report that contains trends and projections of energy
consumption and supply. These projections are used by federal, state, and local governments; industry;
trade associations; and other planners and decisionmakers in the public and private sectors.
