On February 19th, 2026, the Center held an introductory seminar on the energy sector, aimed at clarifying key concepts of energy markets and the energy transition for communication professionals.
The seminar provided an overview of major developments in global and Greek energy markets, the challenges of energy security, the evolving roles of fossil fuels and renewable energy sources, and the European and national regulatory framework guiding the green transition. Particular emphasis was placed on how electricity markets function, how energy prices are formed, and on emerging trends shaping modern energy systems, including decentralization, digitalization, and increased consumer participation. The seminar forms part of the Center’s educational initiatives to strengthen knowledge and evidence-based understanding of critical energy and sustainability issues.
